Background

Born in Moss Point, MS, 29 March 1959 to Annie L. Seawright and the late Norman H. Sr.  The fifth child of eight children and the first born son.  Graduated from Moss Point High School (33 of 371) in 1977.  Was a member of the French Club, the Glee Club, the Madrigals, Sophomore class president, president of school’s chapter of National Honor Society, Three year letterman in football, basketball, and track, Full athletic scholarship to the University of Mississippi; was president of the Black Student Union, Director of the Black Student Union Gospel Choir, held membership in the Chancellor’s Advisory Committee for Minority Affairs, the Student Alumni Council, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Society of Black Engineers, Arnold Air Society, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Air Force ROTC.  1982 Graduate from the School of Engineering, Univ. of MS, Commissioned as 2nd Lieutenant USAF, and began Undergraduate Pilot Training (UPT) at Columbus Air Force Base, MS in April 1983.  Graduated from UPT March 1984 and was trained in Strategic Air Command flying KC-135A/Q.  Left the military in December 1991 and was employed with United Parcel Service, Airlines in June of 1992 as a Flight Engineer on the DC-8.  Upgraded to First Officer on the Boeing 757/767 in 1995, and to Captain in 2000.  Promoted to UPS in January of 2000 as a Check Airman Boeing 757/767 and in September of 2001 was promoted to Assistant Chief Pilot for Louisville Flight Operations. As a member of the Organization of Black Airline Pilots, was elected to the Board of Directors in 2002.

In November 2002, accepted calling in the ministry of the preached Gospel.  Preached initial sermon in Jan 2003.  Associate Min. at Gilt Edge Baptist Church, Jeffersonville, IN.

Married to the former Mary L. Moore of Friars Point, Ms. and blessed with two sons:  Norman III, and Brantley. Reside in southern Indiana.
