First Officer Michael Dorsey

First Officer Michael Dorsey is a native of Louisville, KY.  Mike attended John F. Kennedy elementary school, Southern Middle School and graduated from Louisville Male High school where he lettered in track and football.  He attended the University of Louisville’s Speed Scientific School where he received a Mechanical Engineering Technology Degree. 


Mike reported to Pensacola, Florida for aviation indoctrination training in March 1988.  During his flight training he flew the T-34C Mentor, T-2B Buckeye and the TA-4J Skyhawk.  Mike received his Navy wings of gold in April 2000 in Beeville, TX.  He went on to fly the F-14 Tomcat and the E-6A.  Mike flew the E-6A  with the Ironmen of  VQ-3.  He went on to become an Aircraft Commander, Mission Commander and Instructor pilot  patrolling the entire continental U.S. communicating with the nuclear strategic forces.   


While still in the Navy, Mike was hired by United Airlines.  Mike accepted the offer from United and was honorably discharged from the Navy as a Lieutenant.  Mike is now based in Chicago flying the Airbus 320 and 319 all over the continental United States including Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico and the Caribbean islands.  Mike has accumulated nearly   8000 flight hours.  Although Mike is based in Chicago, he resides in Louisville, KY with his 3 children.
